(Newton, MA) June 6, 2008 – Before the start of the Great Education Debate between education advisors for the McCain and Obama political campaigns, The Association of Educational Publishers (AEP) honored 360KID CEO Scott Traylor as its AEP Member of the Year. The award is given in recognition of Scott’s “outstanding voluntary service and assistance to the AEP” as well as the “exemplary manner in which Scott represents his organization and AEP within the industry.”
“I am truly honored by the AEP’s recognition,” said Traylor. “They are an organization that has been at the forefront of learning and technology for a number of years and are true advocates of providing quality educational materials for all students and teachers, regardless of the medium. There are uncountable ways that AEP have supported publishers and developers, but most importantly, they have contributed significantly to student learning and successful student outcomes.”
Scott has been a noted speaker at AEP events. In 2007 he kicked off the AEP Summit with the WOW Technology Session, which invited attendees to experience first hand some new technologies that could fundamentally change not only how traditional publishers develop, deliver and market their products, but how students and teachers use those products.
“AEP named Scott Traylor the 2008 Member of the Year for his commitment to helping the organization, its members, and the industry understand the impact of technology on education and how to successfully incorporate it into learning.” said Doug Ferguson, Vice President of Operations of AEP. “From speaking to providing advice to participating in AEP events, Scott embodies AEP’s mission to create a thriving educational publishing industry that provides quality materials for every educator and student.”
Scott continues to be an active member in the AEP and other organizations and to speak to industry leaders about learning, kids, and technology.
